OUR COFFEE ORIGINS

At Coffee Penida, origin defines identity. We source Arabica beans grown at 1,200–1,700 meters above sea level, where slow maturation allows deeper flavor development and natural complexity.
COLOMBIA: Balance Shaped by the Andes
Colombia’s reputation as a benchmark for 100% Arabica excellence is shaped by its Andean geography.
-
High Altitude: 1,200–2,300 meters, slowing bean growth and concentrating sugars
-
Volcanic Soil (Andisols): Rich in minerals such as potassium and phosphorus, supporting sweetness and depth
-
Climate: Steady temperatures (18–24°C), frequent rainfall, and abundant sunshine
Colombian Arabica is widely protected as a geographical indication, ensuring strict quality standards and reinforcing its role in the global specialty coffee category.
INDONESIA: Volcanic Purity and Subtle Brightness

Indonesia’s Arabica thrives in dramatic volcanic highlands, particularly near active volcanoes such as Mount Agung.
-
Altitude: 1,000–1,700 meters, ideal for Arabica cultivation
-
Volcanic Soil: Mineral-dense, promoting smooth body and low acidity
-
Shade-Grown Ecosystems: Often cultivated alongside citrus trees
These natural conditions give rise to Arabica beans with clean structure, gentle citrus notes, and floral aromatics. The presence of nearby citrus vegetation and balanced soil microbiology is often associated with soft sweet-orange brightness, making caramel and citrus a naturally complementary pairing.
Unlike heavier, earthier Indonesian coffees, this Arabica profile is smooth, refined, and quietly complex.
TWO ORIGINS, ONE PHILOSOPHY
Colombia and Indonesia share key similarities that make them among the world’s finest Arabica providers:
-
Volcanic, mineral-rich soil
-
High-altitude cultivation
-
Balanced rainfall and sunlight
-
Long-standing coffee farming traditions
These shared elements allow Coffee Penida to unite both origins under a single philosophy—Arabica coffee shaped by land, perfected by craft.
